Before becoming a children's author, Wendy Ulmer was a music and English teacher in Bath, Maine for 21 years, and in a previous life, was a registered music therapist in Pennsylvania, as well as a church organist and choir director.
Her picture books include A Campfire for Cowboy Billy, A Isn't for Fox: An Isn't Alphabet, Zero, Zilch, Nada: Counting to None, and My Twelve Maine Christmas Days, and One Green Tree, Ten Chickadees. She has also written a fantasy trilogy for elementary school readers, The Journals of Anterg; it is illustrated by Sandra Salsbury.
In her spare time, she makes custom quilts. She has been published in Ladybug magazine and in a music teacher's resource guide.
